Description

This module introduces the legal system of the World Trade Organization, including both the core principles of world trade law and the institutional structures through which that law is administered. By examining the WTO in its political, economic and historical context, we will seek to understand the functions, and the limits, of the public international law governing international trade. Topics will include the WTO¿s negotiation and dispute settlement mechanisms, core disciplines on border measures and discrimination, the interaction of trade law and economic development, and the relation between multilateral and regional trade regimes.
